Full planning permission has been granted for a new care home providing 77 care suites. Construction work commenced in March 2011 with completion of the new building planned for March 2012.
This is an innovative approach to providing care where each residents has their own front door where they can socialise in privacy with family and friends, in contrast with traditional care homes where each resident’s private space is only a bedroom and day space is shared with other residents. However there is also the same communal lounge space as in a traditional care home, so that residents can chose to spend time in a group setting for their social or care needs.
