Rodwell Farm Nursing Home is a detached character home set in a one acre site in rural Surrey. The Home provides care for frail elderly and young physically disabled together with a unit specializing in care for residents with dementia type illnesses.
Care home standards have developed enormously over the past decade and both regulators and the care home residents now expect much more space, both in their private living areas and also in the communal facilities. With the extensive grounds that we now own at Rodwell Farm there are excellent prospects for improvement. We are therefore pursuing planning permission to completely demolish the existing building and replace it with a new one, specifically designed as a care home. The plan would be to build phase 1 of an adequate size to provide sufficient spaces for the residents of the existing home and once they are moved to this building the existing building would be demolished and phase 2 could then be built.
The key feature of the new home is that residents would be accommodated in Care Suites with their own front door. The suites include personal day space where residents can socialise in privacy with family and friends. However there will also be the same communal lounge space and dining areas as in a traditional care home so that residents can chose to spend time in a group setting for their social or care needs. A range of studio and one bedroom suites would be offered thus allowing a wide range of care needs to be met.
Twenty four hour nursing care, personal care and support will be provided thus offering a home for life and the service can be increased and decreased based on individual needs.
